Na Sveučilištu Sjever, u Sveučilišnom centru Varaždin, u četvrtak, 11. travnja 2019. godine održan je Dan otvorenih vrata u sklopu kojeg su tijekom cijelog dana za posjetitelje i učenike bile održane brojne radionice i predavanja u sve tri zgrade Sveučilišnog centra Varaždin. Na svečanom otvorenju izv.prof.dr.sc. Damir Vusić, prorektor Sveučilišnog centra Varaždin predstavio je ukratko rad Sveučilišnog centra Varaždin te istaknuo kako vjeruje da će mnogi učenici koji prisustvuju Danu otvorenih vrata donijeti odluku upravo o upisu na Sveučilište Sjever gdje će steći kvalitetno obrazovanje u moderno opremljenim prostorima.

Associate Professor Petar Kurečić visited the University of Malta from April 4th to April 8th, 2019, performing the ERASMUS+ KA103 teaching mobility for the ongoing academic year. Prof. Kurecic was a guest of the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Quality Assurance, Professor Godfrey Baldacchino, one of the leading experts in small state research, with a special focus of his work given to small island states. Professor Baldacchino is also co-head of a UNESCO-funded co-chair established at the University of Malta and Prince Edward Island University (Canada), focused on island studies and sustainability.
Pročelnici Odjela za ekonomiju i Odjela za odnose s javnostima izv.prof.dr.sc. Ante Rončević i doc.dr.sc. Darijo Čerepinko sudjelovali su u Bratislavi na radionici u sklopu projekta 'CEE Countries in Europe: Towards Center or Periphery'. Projekt financira China-CEE Institute, a u konzorciju sudjeluju još i University of Economics iz Bratislave u Slovačkoj, koji je ujedno i koordinator projekta te Latvian Institute of International Affairs iz Rige, Latvija i Shanghai University of International Business and Economics iz Šangaja, NR Kina.
Trajanje projekta je 6 mjeseci, a cilj je odgovoriti na niz pitanja o utjecaju tranzicijskih procesa i članstva u EU na svaku od pojedinih zemalja i poziciju svake pojedine države ovisno o europskoj jezgri odnosno periferiji.
Uz pročelnike odjela, na projektu sa Sveučilišta Sjever, također, sudjeluje i izv.prof.dr.sc. Petar Kurečić.
