Erasmus+ KA107 meeting

On April 23, 2018 within the framework of Erasmus+ program, a meeting was held between vice-rector of Odesa State Academy of Technical Regulation and Quality for research and international relations Hennadii Bratchenko and Vice-rector for Teaching and Educational Work Oleksandr Diachenko and Rector of University North Marin Milković and Vice-rector for Scientific and Artistic Work and International Cooperation Anica Hunjet and Erasmus+ Program coordinator Aleksej Aniskin.

Scientific Encounters in the North

2nd Scientific Encounters in the North with the basic topic of 'Cultural Convergence: Media as Cultural Systems', are sequences of scientific encounters held every two years at the University North. In 2016 (21 and 22 October) the first international scientific conference was organized in the honour of 80th birthday of the academician Milivoj Solar, under the title ‘Language of Literature, Science and Media’. About sixty national and international exhibitors (literary theorists, historians, theatrologists, philosophers, sociologists, ethnologists, media researchers, educational experts, etc.) participated in the work of the first Scientific Encounters in the North in the context of very different, inspirational and innovative themes. In an effort to continue this practice, and to achieve that the north-western region becomes a meeting place for scientists and a nursery garden of new topics in different science fields, the 2nd Scientific Encounters represent a very logical sequence.


New laboratories at Department of Multimedia, Design and Application at University North

The new laboratories have been equipped with Computer Equipment, Professional Study Equipment and Software. In new labs, students will be provided with even more quality practical training in the production and postproduction of media content. With this equipment in the first room conceived as a studio for video production for performing practical classes for working with camcorders and cameras, existing professional equipment and lighting, a new professional lighting studio (remote controlled), studio tonal equipment, scenographic elements and a new television camcorder and a professional camera. The studio is now equipped to work with two different scenes, and some of the scenographic elements are designed so that students can always graphically shape them again.


Collaboration between Universities

Rector of the University North, prof. PhD Marin Milković and Rector of the University of Mostar prof. PhD Zoran Tomić signed an agreement on inter-university cooperation in Mostar on 6 April 2018, thus officially establishing cooperation for the purpose of achieving common interests for the advancement of scientific research, artistic work and teaching process. By signing the Agreement on Inter-University Cooperation, the academic cooperation between the two universities will be promoted and encouraged, primarily through the exchange of teaching staff and students, the exchange of all relevant published publications of both universities, and the exchange of information and coordination of conditions for enrollment in study programs through the implementation of joint study programs.


Announcement of new studies!

"Open Day“ is part of the promotional activities of the University North. This year was held on March 21 at the University Center Varazdin. Presentation about University was held for many high school students,  especially prospective students and for everyone who is interested in the work of the University. In addition to undergraduate study programmes implemented for many years, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Ph. D.  Vlado Tropša announced new programmes for the next academic year (2018/2019).

In the University Center Varazdin will begin undergraduate study programmes Mechatronics and Physiotherapy, while in the University Center Koprivnica will begin undergraduate study programmes in Food Technology, which is important in view of the strong food industry in our region. In addition to undergraduate study programmes, University North also opens new graduate studies Multimedia, Mechanical Engineering and Construction.


The success of our professors at the International Scientific Conference in Venice

WASET organized a new scientific conference –  19th International Conference on Extending Database Technology “ICEDT 2017". It took place from 16 to 17 February 2017 in Venice, Italy with the aim to bring together leading academic scientists and researchers to exchange and share their experiences and research results. The Conference provided an interdisciplinary platform for researchers where they had a possibility to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends and challenges they face in the field of Extending Database Technology.
