Call for Conference - 46th International Scientific Conference on Economic and Social Development "Sustainable Tourist Destinations"

Social Development (ESD) "Sustainable Tourist Destinations" that will be held on 24-25 October 2019 at  University North, University Centre  Varaždin, Croatia.

The conference will be organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw, Poland and the Faculty of Law, Economics and Social Sciences Sale - Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco and the "ESD Conference".

The aim of the conference is to address topics on globalization, modern economics, international capital markets, sustainable tourist destinations, entrepreneurship, modern enterprises, etc.

The themes of the scientific part of the conference are:

  • Globalization and Challenges of the Modern World
  • Enterprise in a Turbulent Environment
  • Entrepreneurship Caught Between Creativity and Bureaucracy

The conference is open to professionals who wants to explore further named topics through lectures, presentations  and discussions.

European Researchers' Night at University centre Varaždin

At University North , on 11 April 2019, an event took place - the "European Researchers' Night" as part of the Techno-Past Techno-Future project; European Researchers' Night. The event was organized within the Open Day at University North Varaždin. The visitors of all ages could participate in various lectures, interactive and entertaining workshops, presentations, and they also had the opportunity to meet students and teaching staff. There was also a tour of the laboratories and participation in fun quizzes with the possibility of winning valuable awards.

A lecture was held titled 'What is the European Union and what does it do for me?'

University North in co-operation with the European Commission on April 16, 2019 at 16 :00 (UNIN2-110) within the programme 'Back to University' organized a lecture titled 'What is the European Union and what does it do for me?'. The lecture was held by Vlado Cetl, phD.

University North presented the project "Internationalization of Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at University North"

On April 9, 2019, University North, University centre Varaždin, Department of Mechanical Engineering, presented the project "Internationalization of the Master's Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering at University North". The aim of this project is to increase the mobility of students and teachers through the preparation of twenty courses of graduate university studies in mechanical engineering in a foreign language, the regulation of mobility infrastructure, the encouragement of outgoing students' and teachers' mobility and the promotion of a newly developed programme at specialized fairs of higher education.

The Festival of Science 2019 at University North

All parties  interested are invited to participate in the 17th Festival of Science organized by the British Council, the Technical Museum of Nikola Tesla from Zagreb and Croatian Universities, under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Education, wich will be held from 8 to 13 April 2019 at the University  North. The topic of this year's Science Festival is "COLORS". The Science Festival is an opportunity for popularization of science, programs and projects of particular departments and scientists from different scientific fields of work.

European Researchers' Night at University North

At the University of North, on January 25, 2019, was held the "European Researchers' Night" as part of the Techno-Past Techno-Future project activity; European researchers' night.

The event was held as part of the Open days at University North in Koprivnica, and visitors of all ages could participate in various lectures, interactive and entertaining workshops, presentations and they had the opportunity to met students and teaching staff.

New Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Damira Keček, senior lecturer at the University  North, passed her PhD viva on November 20, 2018 (successfully finished her doctoral studies). The tittle of her doctoral thesis  was "Development and Application of the Modified Model of ICT Sector Extraction in the Croatian Economy" and she was supervised by Prof. dr. Marinko Škare and Associate Professor Valter Boljunčić from the University Juraj Dobrila in Pula. This is the first  PhD degree awarded at the University North  as a part  International Joint Doctoral Study International Economic Relations and Management.
