The success of our professors at the International Scientific Conference in Venice

WASET organized a new scientific conference –  19th International Conference on Extending Database Technology “ICEDT 2017". It took place from 16 to 17 February 2017 in Venice, Italy with the aim to bring together leading academic scientists and researchers to exchange and share their experiences and research results. The Conference provided an interdisciplinary platform for researchers where they had a possibility to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends and challenges they face in the field of Extending Database Technology.

Exhibition on the life of the creator of the Indian constitution dr. B. R. Ambedkar at University North

As part of the cooperation of the Office for Science and International Cooperation of University North and the Embassy of India in Croatia, from May 19 to May 26, 2016, University North is honored to host an exhibition on the life of one of the creators of the Constitution of India, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.

The exhibition consists of 32 photographs that accompany the life of Dr. Ambedkar. They are brought to University North with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India. Setting up the exhibition at University North is continuation of the excellent cooperation between the University and the Embassy of India in Croatia, which aims to further strengthen the relationship between the University and most populous country in the world.

Working meeting with partners from Odessa

In accordance with the agreement on cooperation between University North and the Odessa State Academy of Technical Regulations and Quality in Ukraine and the Agreement Erasmus+ on academic mobility of students and university staff, a working meeting was held - Rector of the Academy prof. dr. of Tech. Sci. Leonid Kolomiets, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation prof. dr. of Tech. Sci. Gennadiy Bratchenko, and Aleksej Aniskin, Ph.D. from University North.

They discussed the results of cooperation in 2015 and expressed satisfaction with the results. They determined the prospects for further directions of cooperation for the year 2016. At the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of enrollment of doctoral students in Odessa State Academy of Technical Regulations and Quality, participation in training programs of lecturers and teachers, and the possibility of establishing joint chairs.

Cooperation agreement signed by University North and University Hospital Center Zagreb

Rector of University North Marin Milković, Ph.D., and remediation manager of the University Hospital Center Zagreb Hrvoje Vrčić, Ph.D., signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions on November 18, 2015.

The agreement allows for the exchange of knowledge and experience, professional and academic teaching at the study of Nursing, the possibilities for traineeship at the hospital as part of other study programs at the University, mutual scientific, technical, business and organizational services to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations, the exchange of information on the possibilities of improving business relations and cooperation, realization of thematic research, development of scientific and professional projects, seminars, workshops, round tables, conferences and educational programs, meetings of scientists and experts of various specialties and other forms of business cooperation.

University North and Croatian Catholic University signed a cooperation agreement

On Friday, December 18, 2015, at the rectory of the University of Zagreb, after the meeting of the Rectors’ Conference, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Croatian Catholic University and University North.

Students and professors from the University of Pecs in the North

On Friday, November 6, 2015, the Head of the Department of Croatian Studies at the University of Pécs, Stephen Blažetin, Ph.D., visited University Centre in Koprivnica with his colleagues and students. He gave a lecture for the students with the topic of Croatian studies in Pécs. The University of Pécs is the oldest University in Hungary, established in 1367. After the lecture, the representatives of the University of Pécs discussed with the Vice-Rector for scientific and artistic work and international cooperation’s assistant Ana Globočnik-Žunac, Ph.D., about possible forms of cooperation in the future. Given the significant interest shown by both sides, it can be concluded that the two Universities can expect fruitful collaboration in future.

New cooperation agreements for the new academic year

University North begins this academic year with a series of cooperation agreements with various higher education institutions from Croatia and abroad.
Erasmus bilateral agreements which are to be applied from this academic year have been signed with the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, Spain; State School of Higher Education in Chelm and the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, Poland; Faculty of Transport and Logistics at the University of Istanbul, University of Aksaray, and the University of Karabük, Turkey; College of Health Sciences from Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia; and, the University of Pécs, Hungary.
